Rurmors..

Heart Beat any good?

I’ve been stuck in the first 10 minutes of episode one for a week now. I can’t seem to get past the whole flying vampire with powers kind of thing. Altho I’ve skimmed through the comments on r/kdrama and people seem to think it’s fun and such.

Is it still worth continuing if I’m not into whole supernatural thing? It looked a little cringe-y to me.

I'm currently watching it and I'm enjoying it because it's so amusing. I'll most likely watch the series because it makes me laugh.

As Samptra_writer suggested try to get through the first episode and if it's too cringey for you just drop it.

It's super cringe and campy, only reason I'm able to watch it. I hate anything vampire the whole genre. But this isn't taking itself to seriously, it's not everyones cup of tea for sure, I do like the 2ML though, it's his drama debut. Don't get me wrong love Taecyeon, but he's compelling on screen.

I'd give it to the end of episode 1 at least and if you're not into by then, not for you.

I'm enjoying it. It's mostly light and silly and yes a bit cheesy so I could see how you could find it cringe but I think it's funny and has a lot of charm. I really like both the leads in it, it's their personalities and rapport that make the show for me.

The first ten minutes of episode 1 are different from 90% of the rest of the show in terms of tone/setting. There are flashbacks to the Joseon era but they don't take up a lot of time in each episode, and the ML comes off differently in the present than he does in that opening scene.

I’m enjoying it more than the other ongoing kdramas that are getting a lot of hype right now.. The chemistry between the cast is very natural and taecyeon’s comedic timing is gold.

I didn’t enjoy the first episode much either but imo it becomes less cringe as the story goes on. It’s just super funny, nothing too big, its just simple and fun to watch!

I watched the whole first episode and then dropped it. The CGI effects are incredibly cringy (floating vampires moving through the sky like hot air balloons, like excuse me??) and there were a lot of lazy jokes that fell flat for me. The faces the vampires pull when they show their fangs made me want to shrivel into myself from the cringe. The writing itself feels lazy.

I love Ok Taecyeon though, so it's disappointing. If you love the actors you could probably power through, because it's obviously a show that doesn't take itself too seriously and if the humour's for you then absolutely continue on. It is definitely not for me though

The CGI and special effects are pretty awful but if you can look past that the show is so fun. It's silly, goofy, campy, and doesn't take itself seriously at all. I'm really enjoying it and Taecyeon is great in this role. Watch if you want something to make you laugh and just relax for an hour.

I am still watching it but I am considering dropping it. The first two episodes were pretty slow. The issue with the show is lack of good supporting characters to add spice to the entire duration of a one hour episode. Also I don't really connect with either the FL or ML.

It pains me to say it because I love both of the leads. This kdrama fucking sucks. Did I finish it? Yes. Is it ass? Yes. Also it’s flunking in Korea too in terms of viewership. Im a native Korean btw. It’s so boring. The writing is terrible. There’s no real conflict and the dialogue is bad at evoking viewer emotions. You don’t really care about the characters either. They also keep it mysterious by limiting backgrounds kd the character for example the antagonist vampire And the directing sucks too.

No it’s not worth your time. It’s entertaining because there are funny moments, but it’s very cheesy and lacks character development. I have been doing so much fast forwarding because it’s so predictable. I’m just waiting for the ending now to see if the male lead gets what he wants and how.

So in my opinion, TLDR:

  • is it worth it? No

  • is it forgettable? Yes

  • is it enjoyable? Meh

  • do I like it? Meh

  • He is a vampire, but he doesn't drink blood, & he goes out in the daylight and on top of that he is mortal and broke and a NICE guy. Honestly I don't understand why he is a vampire. Which is the problem with the drama, there is no consistent logic or plot development. Ok Taec-yeon is his usual great leading man self, but scenes between him and the main female lead fall a bit flat. She is usually angry, or anxious and fairly expressionless and a bit drab though pretty. The sidekicks are amusing but again no development and unfortunately not sexy. The main villain is like some dweeb high school band member that smirks a lot and dresses goth. He isn't scary at all. Then the main lead keeps falling over and having melodramatic scenes of fainting weakness alternating between showing off how gosh darn decent a vampire he is, dispersed with intermittent heroic feats of strength on demand. I think they would all be better off leaving the house, but instead we get to watch them all clean and decorate (but not cook as there isn't a stove). She keeps packing in more guys in her house not paying rent, with little to no job prospects and yet she is suppose to be improving her business. I made it through to the end - it was Halloween but, no don't watch this. This is about in my bottom five of worst k-dramas out of about 200 I've watched.
