Synopsis The Glory Season




It’s a sad revenge story that begins with a high school student who dreamed of becoming an architect. However, she had to drop out of school after suffering from brutal school violence. Years later, the perpetrator gets married and has a kid. Once the kid is in elementary school, the former victim becomes his homeroom teacher and starts her thorough revenge towards the perpetrators and bystanders of her bullying days.

Description

I hesitated at first, because the description of the show talks about high school, bullying, and I can’t stand that. But then it also talks about how the victim sought revenge on those who tormented her in high school., 
Which I absolutely love. My solution was to skip the first episode and watch the rest. I ended up really loving the show. Totally worth it.
Am I the only one who found it mediocre?

 I mean it definitely isn’t a bad watch, but feels overrated. So many things are left unexplained, and the meeting between the FL & ML is weird af to me. He decided to chase after FL because she suddenly jolted out of the hospital during their first meeting in the ER. 

Found out about her story and decided to be used. Like what? Isn’t that just blatant stalking if we put it IRL. Or did I miss something? So many back stories are left unexplained, how she met and know all these people, how did she plot and plan her revenge? Everything just falls into place mystically and magically. All in all, it’s a decent watch, I did enjoyed the journey, but the rating feels overrated for me.

I think her background with other characters was very clear?? EDIT: but the lead couple’s relationship definitely is not healthy. Both have a warped way of thinking that can easily turn them against each other in the future.

Gonna give an unpopular opinion but no, honestly. The first few episodes are decent but then it goes downhill fast. The revenge gets set up early and then all the characters just sit around being excruciating boring AND annoying until the final 2-3 episodes. The pacing is just horrific.

The acting is pretty bad as well. The characters were clearly meant to be over the top but it just seemed like too much considering how dark the story was. Maybe watch 5 episodes and drop it if you’re getting bored.

yes, it really is. there should definitely be a trigger warning for people who have/had experience with bullying and abuse, but otherwise it is a really great show. you find yourself being invested in all the characters, whether they are antagonists or not. the ending also did not disappoint, and really proved why the show is named “the glory.” easily the best kdrama i’ve watched in a while.

I'm very interested to watch this show but above all I want the revenge to be extremely satisfying, where the bully/villain suffers greatly. Good examples would be the revenge shown in SK films such I Saw The Devil, Oldboy, Lady Vengeance, etc. Is the revenge in The Glory any similar to those films?
